Admission of international patients
Follow these steps for a smooth healthcare experience at Mersin University Hospital.
Arrival & Airport Greeting
Patients who contact the Health Tourism Unit are greeted at the airport. The hospital provides a shuttle service and a translator so you reach your accommodation as quickly as possible. The journey between Cukurova International Airport and Mersin takes approximately one hour.
Accommodation
Depending on your preference, the Health Tourism Unit can arrange accommodation at Mersin University Guesthouse or at other hotels. Religious and cultural sensitivities are respected, including worship facilities and food preferences.
Hospital Admission & Appointments
After you settle in, your identification details are collected and appointments are arranged with the relevant departments. Once confirmed, you are taken to the hospital by shuttle for consultations with your assigned doctors.
Examination & Treatment
Patients scheduled for surgery are allocated private rooms. Hospital staff assist you while being mindful of religious and cultural sensitivities. Three meals a day are provided and essential needs are met.
Discharge Procedures
On discharge, a comprehensive summary (epicrisis) is prepared, including your follow-up date, diagnosis, treatments performed, medications, diet plan and hospital contact details. All medical records can be provided on request.
Farewell & Cultural Tour
Once your treatment and an optional Mersin cultural tour are completed, you are safely transported from your accommodation to Cukurova International Airport for your journey home.
Accommodation
Mersin University Guesthouse
Located on the Ciftlikkoy campus, the guesthouse offers comfortable accommodation close to the hospital. It has 33 standard rooms, 11 family rooms and 7 suites, all on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
