Child and Adolescent Substance Addiction Treatment Center (CEMATEM)

Outpatient assessment and treatment of substance use disorders in children and adolescents, combining age-appropriate psychotherapy with structured family involvement under Turkey's CEMATEM program.

About this service

Adolescence brings its own clinical needs, and the Child and Adolescent Substance Addiction Treatment Center (CEMATEM) at Mersin University Hospital addresses them through a dedicated outpatient program within Turkey's national CEMATEM framework. Every young patient undergoes an age-appropriate psychiatric, developmental, and psychosocial assessment before an individualized treatment plan is developed. Care is delivered on an outpatient basis, allowing children and adolescents to remain in school and family life while attending regular sessions of individual therapy, motivational interviewing, and group work. Because family engagement is central to recovery at this age, parents and caregivers take part in structured family counseling and education. Child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers collaborate closely, coordinating with schools and families to support lasting recovery.
