Sleep Laboratory

Polysomnography-based diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, with overnight monitoring and PAP therapy titration in a dedicated sleep laboratory.

About this service

Sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea often go undiagnosed despite their serious effects on cardiovascular health, daytime alertness, and quality of life. The Sleep Laboratory at Mersin University Hospital diagnoses these conditions using full overnight polysomnography, which simultaneously records brain activity, breathing patterns, oxygen levels, heart rhythm, and body movements while the patient sleeps in a comfortable, private room. When sleep apnea is confirmed, PAP (positive airway pressure) titration studies determine the precise device settings needed for effective treatment. Results are interpreted by physicians experienced in sleep medicine, and findings are evaluated together with related specialties where needed. For international patients, testing and treatment planning can typically be completed within a short stay.
