Transplantation & Organ Services
Kidney Transplantation
Living-donor and deceased-donor kidney transplantation for patients with end-stage renal disease, including pretransplant workup, surgery, and long-term graft care.
About this service
Mersin University Hospital's Kidney Transplantation program offers both living-donor and deceased-donor renal transplantation for people living with end-stage kidney disease. Nephrologists, transplant surgeons, and dedicated coordinators work together to complete detailed pretransplant evaluation, including immunologic tissue typing and cross-matching to identify the most suitable donor match. Living-donor surgery is performed using contemporary techniques designed to protect both donor and recipient, while deceased-donor allocation follows national organ sharing protocols. After transplantation, patients enter a structured follow-up pathway that monitors kidney function, adjusts immunosuppressive medication, and manages potential complications such as rejection or infection. International patients receive comprehensive assessment and coordinated scheduling, with follow-up plans that can be shared with their referring physicians at home.
