Transplantation & Organ Services
Organ and Tissue Transplantation Center
Coordinated solid organ and tissue transplantation programs supported by dedicated donor coordination, transplant waiting list management, and lifelong immunosuppression follow-up.
About this service
The Organ and Tissue Transplantation Center at Mersin University Hospital serves as the coordinating hub for the institution's solid organ and tissue transplant activity across the Mediterranean region. The center brings together transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hematologists, immunologists, and specialized transplant coordinators who guide patients through every stage, from donor evaluation and waiting list registration to surgery and long-term care. Living-donor and deceased-donor pathways are supported through rigorous tissue typing, cross-matching, and ethical review. After transplantation, a structured immunosuppression program monitors graft function and helps prevent rejection and infection. For international patients, the center provides clear pretransplant assessment, transparent coordination with national donor systems, and continuity of follow-up that can be arranged alongside their home care teams.
