Angiography Unit
Advanced catheterization laboratory services for coronary and peripheral angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, stenting, and electrophysiology procedures under continuous imaging guidance.
About this service
The Angiography Unit at Mersin University Hospital is the hospital's dedicated catheterization laboratory for diagnosing and treating vascular disease through the artery itself, without open surgery. Diagnostic coronary and peripheral angiography maps blockages in the vessels of the heart, limbs, and neck, and many patients can be treated in the same session with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) — balloon angioplasty and stent placement that restores blood flow through a small puncture in the wrist or groin. The unit also supports electrophysiology procedures for heart rhythm disorders, including diagnostic studies and device-related interventions. Interventional cardiologists work closely with the Heart Center's surgical team, so patients whose disease is better suited to surgery can move seamlessly to the appropriate treatment pathway.
