Surgery & Rehabilitation
Hand Surgery and Replantation Center
Microsurgical replantation of amputated fingers and limbs, complex hand trauma surgery, and nerve and tendon reconstruction performed with operating microscopes and specialized microsurgical techniques.
About this service
Severe hand injuries and traumatic amputations require immediate, highly specialized surgical care. The Hand Surgery and Replantation Center at Mersin University Hospital brings together hand surgeons trained in microsurgery to reattach amputated fingers, hands, and limbs by restoring circulation through vessels often less than a millimeter in diameter. Using operating microscopes and fine microsurgical instruments, the team repairs severed nerves, tendons, and blood vessels and reconstructs complex hand injuries caused by industrial, traffic, and household accidents. Surgery is only the first step: hand therapists guide a structured rehabilitation program to recover strength, sensation, and fine motor function. For international patients, the center also evaluates chronic hand conditions and secondary reconstruction after previous injury or incomplete recovery.
