Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center
Pressurized 100% oxygen treatment for diabetic foot ulcers, non-healing wounds, carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, and tissue damage caused by radiation therapy.
About this service
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy allows patients to breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber, raising oxygen levels in the blood far above what is possible at normal atmospheric pressure. At the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center of Mersin University Hospital, this approach is used to stimulate healing in oxygen-starved tissue, most notably diabetic foot ulcers and other chronic problem wounds that have not responded to standard care. The therapy is also a primary treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning and decompression sickness in divers, and it supports the recovery of tissue injured by radiation therapy. Underwater and hyperbaric medicine physicians assess each patient, define an individualized treatment schedule, and supervise every session, coordinating closely with wound care, endocrinology, and surgical teams when combined treatment is needed.
