Robotic Gait Rehabilitation
Robot-assisted gait training that helps patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy relearn walking through intensive, precisely controlled repetitive movement therapy.
About this service
Relearning to walk after a neurological injury takes intensive, correctly patterned repetition. The Robotic Gait Rehabilitation program at Mersin University Hospital uses robot-assisted training systems, in which a body-weight-supported exoskeleton guides the legs through a natural walking pattern on a treadmill, to deliver that repetition safely and consistently. The technology allows patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, and other neurological conditions to begin gait training earlier and practice longer than conventional therapy alone permits, while integrated sensors give the rehabilitation team objective feedback on progress. Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and physiotherapists tailor each protocol to the patient's condition and goals, combining robotic sessions with conventional physiotherapy, and structured programs can be planned around a defined treatment stay for international patients.
